At the beginning of 2025, CNTSUN has successfully secured the 50MW solar project in Sierra Leone, marking another significant breakthrough in the international photovoltaic market. This project not only recognizes CNTSUN’s technical expertise and market competitiveness but also represents a crucial step forward in global energy transition.
Project Overview
Covering
approximately 555,000 square meters near the coast, the project site
experiences a typical tropical climate. The rainy season lasts from May
to November, with over half of the annual rainfall occurring between
July and September, accompanied by frequent severe storms. To address
these challenges, the project utilizes CNTSUN’s Tianyu Ground-mounted PV
Racking System, designed to C4 corrosion resistance standards. This
ensures an anti-corrosion lifespan of no less than 40 years, with an
average galvanized coating thickness exceeding 85μm.

Strategic Partnership
CNTSUN
and TBEA have formally signed a cooperation agreement to collaborate
closely in the photovoltaic market, jointly advancing global energy
transition. This partnership highlights both parties’ strong
capabilities in the solar sector and their unwavering commitment to
promoting green energy development worldwide.
Environmental and Social Benefits
Kekurah Vandi, Chairman of the Sierra Leone Energy Commission, emphasized the nation’s historical overreliance on fossil fuels like diesel and petrol, which has imposed severe environmental pressures. "With the full implementation of these agreements," he stated, "the Lungi and Waterloo regions will transform into hubs of clean, renewable energy, significantly reducing the nation’s carbon footprint." He added, "The Lungi project will reshape the lives of people in Kaffu Bullom and ultimately resolve Waterloo’s longstanding energy crisis."
Future Outlook
This
project milestone not only marks a triumph for CNTSUN but also brings
hope for optimizing Sierra Leone’s energy structure. The company remains
dedicated to delivering high-quality products and services, empowering
more regions worldwide to achieve sustainable development and
collectively build a green future. CNTSUN will continue to innovate and
break through technological barriers, contributing to global energy
transition.
